Privacy Policy — Repeat Tutor
Last updated: 30.06.2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Repeat Tutor ("we", "our", or "us") handles user data when you use the Repeat Tutor mobile application.
1. Data We Collect
1.1. Content you provide in the app
When you use learning features, you may provide:
- text messages entered into chat;
- voice audio during voice or realtime practice sessions;
- learning preferences (for example, languages, level, and goals);
- memory cards, conversation plans, and related learning data you create.
Depending on the feature you use, your text and audio may be transmitted to OpenAI and/or Google (Gemini API) to generate AI responses, transcriptions, pronunciation feedback, and speech output.
1.2. Data stored on your device
Chat history, settings, progress, and other app data are stored locally on your device, including in a local database.
1.3. Identifiers, subscriptions, and purchases
Through Apphud and the app stores (Apple App Store / Google Play), we process:
- a pseudonymous user ID for subscriptions and restore purchases;
- subscription status and purchase events;
- device and advertising identifiers where permitted (for example, IDFA on iOS);
- aggregated product usage properties (for example, message or call usage counts).
1.4. Analytics, attribution, and diagnostics
We and our partners may process:
- device type, OS version, and app version;
- pseudonymous user or app instance identifiers;
- in-app interaction events (for example, screens opened, features used, paywall events);
- behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay (via Microsoft Clarity);
- crash reports, error logs, and performance diagnostics;
- advertising attribution and conversion data (install source, campaign attribution, deep links).
2. How User Content Is Processed
When you use learning features, your content is processed as follows:
- Text chat and related AI features — your messages and learning context are sent to OpenAI to generate tutor replies, corrections, translations, and other learning content.
- Voice messages in chat — your audio may be sent to OpenAI for transcription and/or to Google (Gemini API) for transcription and pronunciation assessment.
- Realtime voice practice — your microphone audio is streamed to Google (Gemini Live API) to generate tutor responses in real time.
- Text-to-speech — text you choose to hear may be sent to OpenAI to generate spoken audio.
API requests may be routed through our backend infrastructure (including Supabase Edge Functions) before reaching these providers.
Before using chat or voice features, you are informed that your input may be sent to third-party AI services. By using these features, you agree to this processing.
3. Permissions
The app may request microphone access for voice features, notification permission for reminders, and (on iOS) App Tracking Transparency permission for advertising attribution. You can change these permissions in your device settings.
